About The Glebe

The Glebe 90 years ago comprised two fields: Totters Croft and The Orchard – they formed part of Nether Court Farm. In December 1932 Alexander Shaw, a Woldingham resident, purchased the land and gave it to the village, in perpetuity, for the recreation and wellbeing of the residents.

The gift is administered by the volunteer Trustees and Directors of Craigmyle Glebe Limited, a company limited by guarantee and registered as a charity. As such, The Glebe is entirely reliant on charitable donations and bequests it receives from local residents who follow Mr Shaw’s altruistic example.

The Glebe does not receive any public funds for its upkeep and maintenance.
